A Guide to Energy Efficient Appliances
The appliances sold today have greatly improved upon energy use over those of the past due to the enforcement of energy efficiency standards. Thus, any appliance purchased today must use less energy than an old model. In sum, this is beneficial for the purchaser because energy bills will be lower, and also for the environment. But, still there are things to be aware of when attempting to purchasing the most energy efficient large appliances.
One major bit of information to be privy to is that just because a product has an Energy Star label that does not qualify it as the most efficient in the bunch. New appliances are required to have the Energy Guide label. It is that label that makes it possible to compare the typical annual consumption of energy of various models. This makes the label a fantastic resource that you should make use of repeatedly.
Another thing to remember is that size also makes a difference in the efficiency level. Therefore, do not buy any appliance larger than is actually necessary. Super sized may look impressive, but they squander energy, and in turn money. So, analyze what you really need before beginning your search.
